Legal Guardianship for Adults with Incapacity
Where an adult has lost capacity and did not make a Power of Attorney, it may sometimes be necessary to apply to the court for an order to allow the family to deal with financial and welfare decisions for the adult.
At Stodarts we can help to guide the family through this difficult process. We aim to provide expert legal advice coupled with a service that recognises that matters like this are particularly sensitive.
Although the legal procedure is quite complex, legal aid will often be available to help with some (and sometimes all) of the costs involved in the procedure. We will be happy to advise you about the availability of legal aid in your own circumstances.
Please feel free to contact us by email, telephone or post to discuss any matter where we might be of assistance to you. We will be happy to provide you with details of our charges.
